Beekeeping Internship General Description
We are taking applications for our 2017 Beekeeping Internship. For the last nine beekeeping seasons we have had the services of a young person interested in gaining experience in beekeeping. An extra set of willing hands is greatly appreciated in the bee yard and in exchange for their work we will pass on our 30 years of passionate and natural beekeeping experience.
Internship Starts: April 03, 2017
Internship Ends: September 29, 2017
We are looking for a self-starter and quick learner who is interested in learning natural beekeeping and is willing to perform daily physical work amongst the amazing honeybee. You must have a drivers license and transportation and must be available an average of 20 daylight hours per week, April 03 though September 29th, 2017. Interested candidates should provide their contact information and previous experience; references will be required.
You will experience and learn to rear and manage the honeybee using natural methods. We will be working with Carniolan and VSH honeybees and we will rear queens using the Cloake Board method.
Duties will include working and managing honeybees in our breeding yard and out-yards, harvesting honey and queen rearing. Our method of beekeeping is very labor intensive since we use natural methods to manage our bees.
