We are taking applications for our Beekeeping Internship for 2014. General Description: E&M Gold Beekeepers, LC is a family beekeeping Business using natural and chemical-free beekeeping techniques and we also breed our own queens. We provide our customers with local and US produced honey and work to create trusting relationships so they know their honey will always have the best taste and be the highest quality and purity. We believe in giving back to our community and planet through mentoring other beekeepers and donating one percent of our gross sales to environmental causes.

Skills Desired: We are looking for a self-starter and quick learner who is interested in learning natural beekeeping and is willing to perform daily physical work amongst the amazing honeybee. You must have a drivers license and transportation and must be available an average of 20 daylight hours per week, April though September. Interested candidates should provide their contact information and previous experience; references will be required.

Educational Opportunities: Developing a natural and stronger honeybee using the Carniolan and Russian honeybee races and rearing queens using the Cloake Board method. You will experience and learn to rear and manage the honeybee with out the use of chemicals.

Stipend: 20 hour per week at $150.00

Internship Details: Duties will include working and managing honeybees in our (2) breeding yards and (15) out-yards, harvesting honey, queen rearing, bottling honey and delivering packages to FedEx and deliver honey products to our customers. Our method of beekeeping is very labor intensive since we use natural methods to manage our bees and do not use any chemicals.
