Jennifer Berry Speaks at Rutgers EcoComplex

We have just concluded a very hectic weekend. It started on Friday, when we drove out to Philadelphia Airport to meet Jennifer Berry, who was flying in from the University of Georgia to speak at the NJBA meeting on Saturday.  We got her to her hotel, then met up with a few other members of the CJBA to host Jennifer for dinner at the Jester’s Cafe in historic Bordentown, NJ- we had great food and the service was super!  We dropped her back at her hotel for the night. On Saturday we picked her up early to get her to the Rutgers Eco-Complex in Bordentown. Jennifer Berry spoke about IPM in managing honey bee colonies and the research that has been done in her lab. She covered many of the methods we believe in and use in our own hives, such as screened bottoms ,selection for  resistant stock and hygienic bees.  After her 1st presentation Ed took her to  pick up a rental car. Then after lunch Jennifer spoke again  expounding on many of her earlier points. After the meeting, we  hosted Jennifer at our home. Early Sunday morning, she drove to northern Connecticut for a 1:00 pm speaking engagement.
