We have been maintaining the Heath Farm observation hive for the last 6 years. It is a beautiful Draper Superbee observation hive. The Heath Farm homestead was started by a former slave after the end of the Civil War. It was the first African American farm in Monmouth county. Currently its displays include the Butterfly Breeding Project, Early American Outhouse Exhibit, Farm accessory exhibit, the Spy House Collection, the Heath Library and Study Center, Blacksmith Shop, Honey Bee Museum and Sugar Cane Mill Exhibit.
